Learning to care for the environment

Previous

In this week’s Thursday Reflection, pupils discussed ways in which we can care for the environment and make a difference.

They watched a TED-Ed video called, ‘whatever happened to the ozone layer’ by Stephanie Honchell Smith. After explaining the history and causes of damage to the ozone layer, Smith explains that since humans took action to reverse the damage, the ozone layer has recovered considerably. At a time when optimistic visions of the environment’s future can be in short supply, Smith’s explanation offers us hope that we can make a difference for the better, if we work together, to heal damage that has been done to the environment.
