PPA News, Friday 28 April
Please join us tomorrow (Saturday) morning for coffee and breakfast in the Yard (or Octagon if weather is bad) straight after drop off.
Thank you to everyone who supported events organised by the Pilgrims’ Parents’ Association (PPA) last term.
We raised over £3200 for charity, including the Turkey and Syria earthquake fund and Winchester Youth Counselling. The PPA account balance is healthy and the school and the committee are thinking about what to buy for the school that the boys would enjoy or find useful.
Commmittee News
The committee met on the Sunday before term began and appointed George Burnand as the next chair of the PPA, starting in September. George is a long-standing Pilgrims’ parent with 2 boys who have been through the school and one in Year 5. He has had several positions on the PPA and is well-known as our quizmaster, barman and player of cricket and football.
All PPA members were asked if they were interested in becoming chair and George was our only candidate, so there was no need for a vote. Thank you so much to George for giving up his time to run the PPA, and for all the work he has already done.
Thank you to the rest of the committee for their hard work, running social events and the school shop. We are always looking for new volunteers so do get in touch with George if you are interested.
Upcoming Events
The PPA has several big events coming up this term: booking will open shortly for School of Rock on May 19. The Summer Drinks Party and Wine-Tasting event will be held on Friday, June 9, and the Summer Fête will precede Set Cricket and the parent-staff cricket match on Saturday June 24.
We’ll also be running a Breakfast in the Yard this Saturday so do come along for a coffee, pastry or bacon sandwich.
