Year 6 Science practicals

In Year 6 we have been learning how to use Bunsen burners safely in the Science lab.

Today we used these skills to perform an analytical procedure used to detect the presence of metal ions. Each test is determined by the elements' characteristic flame emission spectrum. As the electrons change, energy levels change in the heat and different light spectrum colours are observed.
