PPA Christmas Drinks Party
This event is a relatively new one to the PPA calendar and at our beginning of term meeting we challenged whether we should continue with it. However...
From last week’s experience I would now challenge whether it should ever be questioned again.
Like the shoemaker’s elves, Deborah Simpson cobbled together a team of fantastic volunteers (for fear of accidentally missing one of the team, I haven’t named you) to decorate the Priory when it was decided that The Pilgrims’ Hall would be too cold. Like the perfection of the shoes the elves produced, the room decoration was the best ever and set the scene for what turned out to be a sensational evening.
Sam Birks (our amazing, not so new, Head of Catering) and team took the canapés to a different level, which ranged from smoked trout to Brie and cranberry, to mince pies and chocolate brownies.
The Hope and Glory fizz from Hattingley went down a treat and got the party going. Thank you to Robert Margossian for his efforts behind the bar.
There was a range of parents and staff from all year groups mixing as one. The party continued in the Wykeham Arms for some time and there was another rumour that O’Neill’s looked after the really hardcore!
As always, thank you to Angela Slater for overseeing the ticketing and thank you to Alistair Duncan for handling the school side of things.
Thank you to all those who attended. It was a really lovely way to start the Christmas season.
