'Good things happen to those who wait', said the Guinness advert and how true it is.
Finally, the examinations are over for all our Year 8 boys, and they have celebrated in style with a BBQ, ice creams and games on Wolvesey this afternoon.
They all looked very happy and relieved as I left them for lesson 5, and Mr Darlow and Mr Reid looked equally ready for some fun! They have begun their final chapter as Leavers on their prep school journey, and the next few weeks will be an action-packed but memorable time for them all, and their parents too, of course.
Finally, I thank all five speakers for giving up their time for the boys tomorrow morning and sharing their insights into resilience as they talk about their life experiences: Mrs Croft, Mr Chum, Mr Ferguson, Commander Tall, and Mr Guest will provide an interesting range of careers, across continents, and we are looking forward to welcoming them to school.
(If you have never watched the Guinness advert of the surfer from 1998, I thoroughly recommend it.)
