...an excellent opportunity for the boys to understand how design principles can be used in a real-life context. The boys took park in an engaging workshop based around the concept of designing a new ride for Paultons Park. It was not only what the ride was, but the workshop cleverly dipped into the accepted principles of designer/maker/user. The boys were introduced to the range of rides on offer and the logic behind them, then they had a chance in groups to design their own ‘watercoaster’!

They also investigated how media can be used to reinforce the theme of their ride and gather publicity. The remainder of the day was rightfully spent researching more rides to enrich their understanding of the workshop!
