Music Outreach Project

On Monday 20 June five primary schools from around Hampshire joined together with the Choristers to perform a concert in Winchester Cathedral.

Directed by Mr Burton and Miss Claudia Grinnell, Cathedral Sub Organist, the massed choir of around 150 children aged between 7 and 13 performed a varied programme of pieces ranging from Rutter to Disney, including music from around the world and some traditional classics.

The concert was the finale of the Music Outreach Project; a collaboration with the Cathedral that has become an annual event, giving children from local Primary Schools the opportunity to join the Choristers for a morning of music-making in the spectacular setting of Winchester Cathedral. Mr Burton has been visiting the schools over the last few months to hold music workshops in preparation for this big day.
