Boarding weekend news

Read about a weekend in boarding which, as usual, is full of good food, music, activities, extra-curricular learning and trips out. Plenty to do and plenty of places to go...

Following Saturday's local fixtures with Twyford and each of the choral foundations having no evening commitments, the boarders had a relaxed evening on Saturday. We began with some hot chocolate and Gladiators on BBC 1.

The following morning, the day started well with a full English breakfast to fill our tummies. The Quiristers headed off for their Eucharist followed by an instrumental concert. Meanwhile, the Choristers headed off in the other direction, also for Eucharist, which the rest of the boarders also attended. Once back in school, lunch followed - roast lamb and roast chicken, with all the usual accompaniments, and we headed out to the Sea City Museum in Southampton, by train.

There, we enjoyed the main Titanic exhibition, which had some brilliant interactive and immersive exhibits. Also available to explore was the Gateway to the World exhibition; investigating Southampton's role as a port and landing point for thousands of years.

We happily whiled away a couple of hours at the museum before making our way back to the railway station.
