Sharing the little steps on the big journey
Two snapshots of the little success stories that make up steps along Pilgrims' larger journeys... A huge 'well done' to these chaps for their fantastic progress!
Mrs Walker, our LAMDA teacher, has been delighted with Teddy and William (Year 4) and their huge improvement in lessons and for doing so well in their recent exams, where they both received a distinction. Teddy feels this really helped build his confidence in reading at the Christmas Carol Service in Winchester Cathedral in front of the huge congregation. Great job, Teddy! Whereas William has seen big gains in his general reading skills and learning pieces from memory. It's wonderful to see oracy skills making such a difference to the boys.
In a completely different area, Dario in Year 1 has impressed Mr Buck no end by showing super perseverance and courage in his swimming. Dario started out finding the sessions tricky, lacked a little confidence and was very wary about entering the pool. His courage was admirable, however, and he soon began to show signs that his confidence was really increasing. There were even smiles at times! Fast forward 8 weeks and he is now loving the water, can swim unaided for 5m and is improving all the time!
