The boarders had a busy and exciting weekend prior to the upcoming exeat.

Saturday night was relatively quiet with the Qs out singing the Messiah at the Cathedral and most Year 7 and Year 8 boarders out at a social event, but for the boys who remained in school, hot chocolate, marshmallows and movies were on the agenda, complete with duvet forts.

Sunday morning was a good opportunity for some fresh air and a couple of hours outside, enjoying basketball, football and ‘Chennis’ – for the uninitiated, this is a combination of tennis and chess! Do ask your son to explain the rules to you!

As the rain began to fall, indoor options took over, with several boys challenging each other to card games, some catching up with prep and a few just chilling in front of a movie. A delicious lunch fuelled everyone up for the afternoon’s activity – Ninja Warrior!  The boys were fully kitted out with ninja headbands, wrist and sweatbands, and gloves before testing their strength and endurance on the challenging course. We had a two-hour session booked, although we were unsure of how long the participants would last – the first to want a rest was after 21 minutes – I won’t mention the member of staff this was!

However, the boys loved the activities and persevered for the two hours, returning regularly to the check point for water, water, and more water! The minibus journey home was certainly the quietest I have ever known, and Sunday night bedtimes were the easiest and calmest of the week. The boys were a pleasure to spend the weekend with.
