The Year 5s were transported back in time on Wednesday when they visited AD878 in the centre of Winchester.  The boys were organised into groups and given tasks to complete, whilst exploring Winchester in Saxon times, in the age of Alfred the Great.  The boys were immersed in Saxon Winchester and learnt a lot, particularly about Alfred’s success at the Battle of Eddington, in AD878.
