Year 5 D&T trip to Legoland
The eagerly awaited annual trip to Legoland for the Year 5s proved to be as thrilling as anticipated.
In the days leading up to the visit, excitement among the boys surged to an all-time high, culminating in an unforgettable experience. The highlight of the trip was a hands-on workshop where the boys engaged in designing a 'tripod rover' using LEGO Spike (robotics) and block coding, allowing them to dive deep into a dynamic, kinaesthetic learning activity. Following the enriching workshop, they explored the iconic Lego 'Miniworld' and embarked on a mission to enjoy as many rides as possible. Fortuitously, the day was marked by perfect spring weather and exceptional behaviour from a group of boys who showed great manners and deep appreciation for the experience. It was unanimously declared, "the best trip ever!"

LEGOLAND BY YEAR 5 EMS ENGLISH SET
Mrs MacDonald-Smith's English set has been working on making super sentences, using their feelings in a moment in time. Here are some of their thoughts on Legoland:
- As I entered the gates of the Kingdom of Play, the air itself seemed to fizz with excitement.
- The atmosphere was filled with eagerness. Screams and energy filled the air.
- My heart glowed with pride as my Lego robot rolled to the designated spot.
- The scale of the winged lion took my breath away with its majestic wings and bold face.
- As the ride started, freezing water thrust from behind, all over us.
- The livid water attacked me as I raced down the ride.
- Cold fingers gripped my heart as evil giggling echoed across the unlit chamber.
- As we sailed into the sky, my body convulsed with joy!
- My stomach slammed into my pale body, as I plummeted through the air.
- It felt like my body had vanished as I dropped down.
- Our heads drooped mournfully as they announced the rides were closing.
- My brain filled with memories as I slouched in my coach seat.
