Year 3 visit Winchester's Great Hall
Year 3 had a wonderful morning on Monday. They enjoyed their walk up to The Great Hall and, once there, were treated to a little walk around The Castle Passageways and down the steps into the Basement Passageways.
The boys were very excited and listened carefully to their tour guides once in The Great Hall. They learnt more about King Arthur and the Excalibur, before discussing the Round Table. The boys were very attentive and asked many sensible questions, which really impressed the staff in The Great Hall. It was clear that they listened attentively and enjoyed reading about King Arthur and the Knights of The Round Table, in class. Well done, boys!
After their talk, Year 3 paired up and completed a Secret Service trail around The Great Hall, which included answering questions about Queen Victoria, The Round Table and the metal wedding gates made for Prince, now King, Charles and Lady Diana. They enjoyed dressing up in various outfits and completed a wordsearch on Arthur and Excalibur.
It was a fun morning and, as expected, the boys did us proud! Well done, Year 3. A brilliant trip for all.
