This week I taught the boys how to make a God’s eye using sticks, wool and, of course, their knots!

A God’s eye is primarily associated with the Huichol indigenous people of Mexico, who made the God’s eyes to watch over them. God’s eyes are often hung in homes for good luck. The boys worked with a partner, and carefully wove the wool around the sticks to create a beautiful pattern. The boys were thrilled with their results and there was an element of calmness as the boys worked together.
