Twilight Talk

On Wednesday, Rosamond Lloyd, Sculptor, kindly took time out to talk to us about her work in bronze sculpting. She described her passion for craft and wildlife as a young child, and how this reflects on her work.

Nominated for a prestigious sculpting award twice throughout her career, Ms Lloyd described the many steps required to make a detailed piece of work in her video with the numerous ‘dentistry’ tools she uses. Alongside this, she showed some of her finished and unfinished pieces in the short film and even brought some of her amazing work for us to see!

Ms Lloyd also expressed her passion for conservation, particularly for animals in Africa. Being an ambassador for Prince William’s charity Tusk, she showed how her sculpting intertwines with her work in conservation, bringing both education to those in poverty and aid to endangered species. The talk was very engaging, and I, alongside many others, enjoyed it thoroughly.
