7S Winchester College Biology Department trip
The Year 7 Scholarship class took a trip to the Winchester College Biology Department to look at the various animals they have there.
Students were tasked with identifying the physiological adaptations of the various vertebrates and invertebrates, and how these features make those animals suited to survive in their respective environments.
Animals seen (and some held) included a carpet python, Yemen chameleon, Mexican cave tetra, Madagascan hissing cockroaches, scorpions, South American horned frog and many more.
This trip was of huge educational benefit to our boys and helped bring adaptations and the study of natural selection to life. The hope is that the rest of Year 7 will do this trip next term.
