The boys had a fascinating guided tour of the 1000-year-old mill and saw and heard the watermill in action. They listened very attentively to Peter, who brought the story of The Little Red Hen to life, beginning with the boys touching the grains of wheat through to grinding them on the millstones to make the flour. With all our senses awakened, we then set off across the road to Abbey Gardens where we had our picnic lunch and enjoyed the playground.
