National Junior Chess Tournament success
Well done to our boys for participating in the Hampshire EJCOA National Junior Chess Championship. Yan Z reports on the event.
"On Sunday 25 February, there was a chess tournament at Badger Farm Community Centre. There were around 80 people at the event in five different age groups. Ten Pilgrims' went to this competition and there were some stand-out performances.
Frank H placed first in the U14 age category with a perfect score of 6/6. In the same category, Yan-Heng Z came 2nd with 4.5/6 and Felix F came 4th with 3/6. On the other end of the age spectrum, Ian L won the U8 category with 5/6. In the U12s there were many more people, with Thomas K and Ennis Z with 4/6.
Overall, it was an enjoyable affair for all and if you like chess, going to a tournament is encouraged for all ages and skill level."
