School life
Boys thrive on being busy. They also enjoy structure and routine. Our days are varied but carefully organised to allow every Pilgrim to make the most of the opportunities presented to him, whether he is in the Prep or Pre-Prep, a day boy or boarder, or a Chorister or Quirister.
To give you just a flavour of what your son might be doing as a Pilgrim, we have created a timeline - 'A typical day' - to fast-track you through the main points of a day at school. However, it is 'Untypical', because nearly every day is slightly different, and nearly every boy will have a slightly different experience of it.
Each boy at Pilgrims' finds countless opportunities to pursue his individual interests and passions, and to find his niche.
There is a typical rhythm to each day, starting with breakfast and progressing through a mix of lessons, breaks, sport, music and co-curricular activities, ending with after school clubs, Evensong, perhaps, for the Choristers and Quiristers, then supper, and boarding time.
The untypical is all the bits on top, the trips, the author visits, the creative workshops, the charity events, the quizzes, the music competitions, the final of Pilgrims' Got Talent, the poetry contest, the race around the Quad in a onesie, the sledging in the snow, the hatching of chicks in the Pre-Prep... Untypical is what makes school fun, and creates memories. Our calendar, newsletters, latest news and social media will give some sense of our days, and you are very welcome to come and take a look round the school, see what is happening, and chat with the boys about their untypical day.
