Junior science work
Since completing the topic of How to design and carry out experiments, the Year 4s have now had the opportunity to apply their knowledge of variables, equipment and fair tests to the topic of Force.
I have to say that Sir Isaac Newton would be proud. The boys have designed various practical experiments to test various forms of forces. We have investigated friction, air resistance, and water resistance to name a few. They have enjoyed changing variables such as mass and surface area to see the impact that this has on speed or force required to move an object. Equally, they have been able to think scientifically and make hypotheses that they can test.
Active learning and 'seeing is believing' is at the heart of junior Science at Pilgrims'.
