Be a Chorister for a day

Well done to all our Pilgrims’ boys who attended the annual Be A Chorister For A Day event last Saturday 12 November!

It was a fun and busy day which kicked off for the prospective choristers with a rehearsal in the Pilgrims’ Hall with our current Winchester Cathedral Choristers, followed by tours of Main School boarding house. Then the Choristers donned their cloaks and escorted the party to the Cathedral. In the Cathedral the visiting boys were split into three groups to explore and learn about the Cathedral, visit the organ loft and try on the all-important Chorister uniform of the red cassock – cue photo opportunity from proud parents!

The day culminated with Evensong at which the prospective chorister boys excelled in their singing of the anthem – pats on back all round! Well done, boys.

If you couldn’t join us on Saturday and you are interested in your son becoming a Winchester Cathedral Chorister – it’s not too late! Please contact Caro Ferguson (Year 8 Chorister parent and Cathedral Choral Administrator) at choirs@winchester-cathedral.org.uk
