There has certainly been a buzz about the Library and many boys have already entered the fiendish Photo Quiz Competition (see photo below). This is a challenge that I also hope parents will enjoy attempting, by trying to guess who is hiding behind the books! Titles can be a clue, but in a couple of photos, looking at the hands holding the book is more helpful. On Tuesday, writer, English teacher, and Fellow of the Royal Geographic Society, Rupert Attlee, met Years 6, 7 and 8 to talk about his book Lost at the End of the World. His recounting of the adventurous cycle ride he endured in Patagonia provided the inspiration for this children's story, and he had the audience listening carefully, gasping occasionally, and participating pertinently. Rupert also visited the Pre-Prep this week to share a story with the younger boys. 

Cake Breaks have continued. I was particularly impressed by the depth of the conversation surrounding Twitch and A Medal of Leroy, where mature conversations about equality, bullying, and forgiveness were expressed with great clarity and eloquence by boys in Year 5 and 6. A double slice of the delicious cake and a show up were the rewards, as well as having explored such great books.

And finally, as Book Week draws to its end, Mrs Leslie has excelled herself in making the library a warm and festive place that the boys are happy to visit. The Library will take a break over Christmas, and we kindly ask that all library books are returned to allow a stock check, weeding, and preparations for next term.
