First the boys met the new ‘Forest School Staff Team’. All were super excited, including Mrs Judd! Equipped with essential snack supplies and a first aid kit, the party headed off on their first ‘hike’ into the Hampshire countryside. The excited babble soon quietened as boys pointed out things of interest. Blackberries were on tap for a quick energy hit while fish, swans, sheep, and conkers provided plenty to look at and collect. Even a herd of cows blocking the path couldn’t dampen the enthusiasm, with one boy providing excellent advice as to how to negotiate around the animals without causing them unnecessary concern. Plenty of opportunities arose for fun and exploration, culminating in a dirt slide. The group certainly returned to school a little weary, but not without further plans for fun in the woods next week.
