Weekend boarding trip to the Solent Sky Museum, Southampton

On Sunday 9 February, the Boarders enjoyed a trip to the Solent Sky Museum in Southampton to see a wide range of historic aircraft.
The city of Southampton was a pivotal location for the production of the Spitfire during the Second World War, so the boys enjoyed building their own Airfix Spitfires in the morning, whilst watching short films about the Battle of Britain.
The museum visit in the afternoon allowed them to see the real thing, alongside a flying boat and many other historical aircraft. They could also sit in the cockpit of the Harrier Jump Jet! Some of the boys also completed the museum quiz and received prizes in return: foam airplanes to take back to school.
