LAMDA Success

Last term, boys from as young as Year 3 right up to Year 7 took their LAMDA exams. This was our first set of drama exams since the new syllabus and expectations came into effect in September 2024.

Boys were entered for Speaking, Verse and Prose exams, which involve reciting from memory one or two poems confidently and expressively. They also engage in conversation about their chosen poems or a topic chosen by LAMDA.

The older boys enjoy exploring the acting syllabus and have the opportunity to perform either monologues or duologues. They again perform one or two pieces, depending on their grade, and are expected to engage in a conversation with the examiner about their character and the piece in general.

Everyone was feeling a little bit anxious, including the teachers, but the boys made themselves, the staff and the school very proud. Everyone achieved distinctions, with some of the boys achieving very high distinctions.

Congratulations to all those that took part.
