Comic Relief and Pilgrims’ Got Talent – Friday 15th March
Next Friday (15th March) is, as you may well be aware, Comic Relief Day. The school will mark this by having a mufti day, for which the theme is ‘wear something red’; £2 will be added to your end of term bill, which will be given to Comic Relief.
Plans are afoot for more money to be raised through Pilgrims’ buskers, so we hope, as a school, to raise a good amount of money for this important charity. We will also take time in some of our tutor time to look at some of the educational side of Comic Relief, including what the money is used for, and take some time to look at some of the classic Comic Relief sketches. Finally, the boys will enjoy a Comic Relief-themed treat at breaktime. Perhaps this will help everyone get into the mood: A comic relief task from Greg Davies
Pilgrims’ has also joined this day to the hugely popular Pilgrims’ Got Talent! The boys have been spoken to about this and sign up is now open (until the end of the day on Monday). Senior and Junior boys should sign up on the signup sheet outside my office, and Pre-Prep boys should talk directly to Mrs Hall.
Auditions (2 minutes to impress the judges!) will be held during break times next week and build towards the final which will take place from 1600 to 1640 next Friday; it is hoped that the weather will be good enough to allow us to hold this in the Quad, so parents will be able to attend (as we did two years ago), but if the weather is poor we will hold this in the Pilgrims’ Hall (with only the parents of finalists invited).
I will write to confirm next week when the weather report is clearer (currently things look unsettled!).
