This term we have two larger events coming up with the Lunar New Year Lunch on Thursday 8 February and the Parents and Staff Quiz on Friday 1 March. We will also be running a Breakfast in the Yard and a Pre-Prep Coffee with dates to be agreed shortly.

Charity-wise, the Promenade Concert last term was fantastic and raised an amazing £1,326 for Children in Need.

This term we will be celebrating Comic Relief, with Pilgrims’ Got Talent on Friday 15 March. There will be a Book Sale on Friday 23 February to coincide with World Book Week, so please start to dig out any books you feel could welcome a new home.

The PPA is sitting on a healthy amount of funds which has built up slightly over the last few years. Tim Butcher and Alistair Duncan have requested funds for some larger projects and the PPA have agreed to fund:

• The new lost property store which has been built and is in place in the Yard opposite the tunnel.
• New projector for The Pilgrim’s Hall. This will be used by both the staff and visiting lecturers.
• A new purpose-built cricket bag store which will be sited next to the Puddle (swimming pool). The current situation for the bags is not satisfactory and the new proposal will ensure that the area around the sheds is tidied up. (This is a joint project between the school and PPA).
• We are also considering smaller requests for IT, Art and Sports equipment. The PPA will also be buying a new BBQ to replace the last one which has now died, and some lights for use at future events.

The parent body is so important to the school and I know that Tim and his team are hugely grateful to all those who help both with the PPA and as Class Reps.
