The boys get to have a session in the inflatable classroom, fitted out with strip lighting, a screen and projector, and some of their favourite characters like Harold the giraffe and Kiki the kangaroo.  Harold actually makes an appearance, much to the delight of the younger boys (and a few older ones, it has to be said!).

In amongst all the excitement and enthusiasm, there are serious issues being discussed.  The workshops make up an important part of our requirements regarding alcohol and tobacco education with the older boys, and our bodies and safety with the younger ones.  They also learn about being assertive, good decision-making, peer pressure and friendships.

Presenting these workshops is the wonderful Lucy, from Coram Life Education.  It is great to have an expert and the same dedicated person, not just for the week, but for consecutive years.  We love having Lucy here and hope her association with the school continues for many years to come.

The SCARF programme, with all its different branches, resources, workshops and instructors, has been a great addition to the school, and is recognised as a leader in its field.  It continues to support strongly the ideals and ethos of the school, helping prepare our pupils for the challenges of the future.  It's a positive message - be resilient, be caring, be understanding, be accepting, be informed.
