Summer news from the Library - Thank you to all boys who have returned their library books already, meeting the deadline of 5pm today. Some books are still outstanding, and we would be delighted to receive them back on Monday. Next week, a small stock of books and magazines will be made available to those pupils who do not have a book from home to read. The library stock is now being checked and assessed, and work will go on during the summer - selecting and preparing new books, weeding out those which are now outdated or too worn - in preparation for September.
The Reading Suggestion lists are being updated at the moment and will be available on the School portal and on the Briggs Library Google Classroom by Monday 11 July. During the summer, all children are invited to join the Summer Reading Challenge organised by the public libraries. Please, support this amazing resource by encouraging your child to take part: details here.
Finally, we would like to know what, and where, our pupils are reading during the holidays. We would like to receive photos of children reading a book - at home, under a tree in the garden, on a Cornish beach, or on a train ..... All photos will be used by Mrs Leslie for one of her splendid displays next term. Further details will be forthcoming. Happy reading!
Mrs Brill

Thank you from Mrs Razza - Thank you so much for the incredible fundraising achieved at last Friday's PPA School of Rock event. The amount raised will make a massive difference to families with children with childhood cancer. Our Alice used to say you can't take away the diagnosis but sometimes when I'm having fun I forget. That's why we created the Amazing Alice charity to give children and families the opportunity to, for even just a moment, forget and have some fun. Your fundraising will help two families make incredible memories to cherish. So a massive thank you from us all at Amazing Alice.

Many long-standing Pilgrims' parents may remember that the school was involved in a fundraising venture for a lifeboat named in honour of Tara Scougall, mother of Edward (OP 2020), who died whilst Edward was at Pilgrims’.
The Lifeboat in her name has recently been launched and James Scougall shares this article about it.
