The fine weather start to the term collapsed last week as rain forced abandonment to the cricket fixtures with Twyford. The forecast threatened as much, but it can be a bit of an art deciding whether to proceed with matches or not – and I have got them both right and wrong in past years. A front was forecast but hinted at fine weather behind it. The timing was up for debate and with Twyford being so close both schools agreed to travel in the hope the weather would lift. The rain set in for longer than I expected, and we were forced to give up on the idea in the end. Unfortunately, that can be the nature of cricket, and we are looking forward to these upcoming matches:

Year 7 and 8 swimmers swam against Twyford yesterday in a friendly gala. Henry S and Rufus B both competed in the individual medley – that was a length each of butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke and freestyle – with Henry taking first place.
There were many fine swims. Kunfayo seriously impressed with a win by several seconds in the 40m freestyle and also the 40m backstroke.
Congratulations to Ennis who was awarded Coach's Player at the Solent Junior Devils end of season awards recently.
