A Christmas Metaphor, by Nye
A temple dotted with fire,
A mountain splattered with stars.
A tree covered with bright lights,
And baubles to watch for hours.
A three-times rounded giant,
a sparkling and shining stone.
A snowman with a top hat,
Standing out there so alone.
The queen bee of an iced-over hive,
With drones to catch up honey,
Santa, his elves and the presents,
From a place not so sunny.
The three parts of Christmas time:
The tree, the snowman and roly-poly Santa -
And once his sleigh has passed,
Snowmen cheer and trees cover gifts.
Christmas Haikus, by Alexander
Black and white mayhem,
Is dancing on the water,
Hungry for baubles.
Arguments break out,
Over who lights up the star,
On the Christmas tree.
The Peacocks’ Christmas, by Edward
The creatures in the house have gone quite mad.
They all seem joyful, but we think it’s quite sad.
They cut down a tree and dragged it indoors.
Now it’s dropping pine needles all over the floors.
They cover things up with tape and wrap,
Then they pull it back off and it turns into scrap.
When they sit at the table and are getting fed,
They perch paper crowns on top of their heads.
Apparently Ted has been quite good
Since he’s got an extra Yorkshire pud.
But the worst of it all (the disgrace of disgraces)
They forgot to feed us while stuffing their faces!
